The Department of Economics is excited to host Prof. Surajit Mazumdar for a guest lecture on the topic “Monopoly in the Indian Economy: Meaning and Significance”. The lecture explores the nature of monopoly in Indian capitalism and the issues it presents.  Prof. Surajit Mazumdar is a renowned academic working in the areas of Industrial economics and Political economy. He is a Professor at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning (CESP), Jawaharlal Nehru University. His research has focused on the Indian Corporate Sector, Indian Industrialization and on the impact of Globalization on the Indian Economy.
